Flower Mound offers several parks and scenic trails including Hidden Valley Park, Glenwick Park, Dixon Park, Westchester Park, Gaston Park, Post Oak Park, Shadow Ridge, and Tealwood Oaks. The town also has several houses of worship such as the Restoration Fellowship Church, Faith Lutheran Church, Flower Mound Church, and New Providence Church. In addition, you can enjoy the Grapevine Vintage Railroad Ride during your leisure hours.
Flower Mound was originally occupied by Native Americans. The area was settled in by the Europeans in the 1840s. It was incorporated as a town in 1961. The community was named after a nearby mound where numerous flowers grew after the heavy rains. Development of the town began after the opening of the Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport. The town of Flower Mound adopted the "strategically Managed and Responsible Town Growth" management plan in 1999.​
