Highland Village is a city in Denton County, Texas, United States. It is a suburb of Dallas, hugging the south side of the far western branch of Lewisville Lake. As of the July, 2017 United States Census the city's population was 16,062.
Highland Village is a great place to live and raise a family. Over the next year we will be covering all of the great Parks, Shopping, Restaurants and activities to take advantage of. Highland Village is a special place and we feel privileged to live here. If there is a place you would like us to visit and post about, please reach out. Lets look at all of the wonderful parks that Highland Village has to offer; it is no secret there has been a tremendous amount of money spend recently to create some great facilities and they are be utilized daily.

One of my favorite events in the annual Hot Air Balloon Festival. This is a three day Family event, Friday 5pm through Sunday 11:00am every third weekend in August. It is located in Highland Village, Texas at Unity Park on Briarhill Boulevard. This charity event is run by the Highland Village Lions Club and Foundation with help from the City of Highland Village and our many, many volunteers. Balloon action starts just before sunrise and sunset around 7:30am and 7:30pm during the festival. The early morning is prime time for Hot Air Balloons because the air is cool and calm. We also have pancakes cooking that will make the mornings even better! So bring your lawn chair or a blanket and enjoy breakfast while watching the Hot Air Balloons do their thing (weather permitting). Plan on coming back later in the day as activities last all day! Live music, Kids Zone, Vendors and Exhibitors, Food, Beer and Wine. There are also thousands of dollars in raffle prizes!
Fishing Highland Village
There are many great areas in and around Highland Village that provide the family with opportunities to connect with nature. Fishing can provide a excellent Fun-Day!
As parents and grandparents I think we can agree children today are consumed with electronic gadgets . Your kids probably spend way too much time in front of electronics when they get home from school until they go to bed. Or at least you wish they spent even less time than they actually do. And just because you have your kids in sports or other activities, being involved doesn’t necessarily focus on being outside. Getting out of the house, into the fresh air, and communing with nature has a great, calming effect for you and for your kids.
Lewisville Lake is named the "Urban Bass Fishing Capital of Texas" due to the abundance and variety of fish in the lake. Fishing on Lewisville Lake includes large-mouth bass, crappie, catfish, white bass, and spectacular hybrid white striped bass.
5/19/2019, Johnny brought Randy and I some luck.....several species were caught using shad; including: Sand-bass, Large Mouth Bass, Perch, and Catfish.....Johnny landed the biggest with a 5.5 lb. Carp. It proved to be a fun and exciting morning.
